Len Platt is a local Sooke artist, born and raised on Vancouver Island. Even though Len is late in developing his lifelong interest in art, he makes up for it with energy and passion as he seeks to create paintings which touch viewers in a positive emotional sense.
As a self taught artist, Len has developed a skill for oil painting which he constantly seeks to develop and hone through study and application of various master techniques, past and present. Creating a painting from something he has seen or photographed is fascinating process of problem solving and application of his skills to arrive at the desired effect. Generally his work focuses mostly on studio work with subjects ranging from local landscapes to portraiture. However his more recent interest in plein aire painting is providing new inspiration and avenues to add further freshness and beauty to his work.
Len’s work has been accepted and sold through the Sooke Fine Arts show, Sidney Fine Art Show and various smaller shows along with private sales and commissions.
